Meeting the winemakers, the vineyard riddled countryside, the smell of must, and suddenly, the first wine.
Sensations chase each other, they take form, become a fruit, a flower, a spontaneous herb and permanently define themselves in me.
My father guided me to the knowledge of wine, with whom I had the first discussions on which label to match with a particular dish respecting both one and the other. In the background of it all, was South Tyrol, my birthplace.
Sacrifice, comparison, travel, daily training, good reading – after studying in Italy and abroad, I acquired a broader vision of the world’s terroirs and tasting techniques, that’s when I realized that the road was indeed the right one.
The international certifications of the Court of Master Sommelier of London (Certified Sommelier) came in, and on June 30th 2018 in Rome, I walked the podium of the Worldwide Sommelier Association, where I was awarded Best Sommelier Worldwide.
Comparison, research, and training continue, but now I want to share what I have learned and give back what I have received.
To govern the fate of the world surrounding wine, there is an authentic and true fabric that needs to be rediscovered and enhanced, unique individualities that I promised to tell through my work. Special people, faces, stories, territories, and realities that are born and reaffirm themselves, and that I want to keep talking about. My name is Eros Teboni and my greatest passion is wine.
